WordCamp Bucharest 2016

We are in the process of registrations of speakers and sponsors. If you like WordPress as much as we do, if you have something to share, either technical or business related, if you have benefited from the WordPress community, then pay it forward, spread the word, share your love for WordPress and sign up for being a speaker at Bucharest WordCamp 2016 by filling in this form. If you want to get involved as a sponsor, please check the Sponsorship Packages and apply here.

WordPress 4.6

WordPress 4.6 “Pepper” has been launched some days ago and it is named after Pepper Adams, the well known baritone saxophonist. This new version is not bringing any major updates, just some regular improvements. Some of the features of this version:

  • the switch from Open Sans to native system fonts, which should increase the WordPress’ performance and also give a consistent look;
  • WordPress has a URL checker who now detects the malformed links, feature which works only for the links inserted via the button;
  • improved content recovery;
  • better management for themes and plugins: updating, installing and deleting are faster now;
  • and other small changes.

WordSesh 4 – August 20

WordSesh is 1 full day of live WordPress presentations from all over the world streamed live. WordSesh is FREE and it is happening this weekend, on August 20, at 00:00 – 24:00 UTC. So, if there are no WordCamps where you can go this weekend but you want to listen to some good presentations, put this in your calendar. You can find more details at wordsesh.org.

WordPress.com launched browser notifications for Firefox and Chrome

WordPress.com launched a new feature: browser notifications for Firefox and Chrome. Once enabled this feature will deliver instant notifications of site activity. Notifications are configurable per-site and per-activity so you’ll get as many of them as you want. The notifications are working even if WordPress.com is not opened in the browser.

WPSiteSync – Easy migrate content between WordPress websites

WPSiteSync is a great tool both for migrating and syncing content between WordPress websites. There are a number of plugins for migrating or syncing content but many of them are requesting database access or they are not just that easy to use.  WPSiteSync has a free version with a limited functionality and has also a commercial membership option available at a discounted rate for only $99 per year. This offer is available for a limited period of time. There are also a number of premium extensions available and hopefully their number will grow soon. More details here.
