If you haven’t updated your WordPress or plugins or themes, do not wait, do it now!
JetPack 4.5 brings new features and improvements
JetPack has started 2017 by launching a major release which brings a lot of new things and improvements. 4.5 includes new shortcodes, new widgets, a newer version of VideoPress but the main attraction point is the integration of WordAds, the WordPress.com’s advertising program. But, in order to sign with WordAds, users need to be on the Premium Plan, which probably you know, it costs $9/month or $99/year. Comparing to AdSense which pays per click, WordAds payment method is based on the number of impressions combined with many other parameters. I think this lack of transparency regarding the payouts and reports is not making WordAds too attractive for publishers.
Automattic launched a free plugin for Lightroom to WordPress photo exporting
This is a good news for the Adobe Lightroom users, who can now export directly their pictures to WordPress. The Lightroom plugins requires a WordPress.com account and than users can export pictures directly to a WordPress website, with all the standard settings supported (title, caption, resizing details and so on). The plugin can be downloaded from here.
